The Next Indonesia | Pekanbaru - The inauguration of the Acting Mayor (Pj) of the Mayor of Pekanbaru and the Regent of Kampar which was originally scheduled for Sunday (22/5/2022) according to the End of Term of Office (AMJ) of regional heads was postponed to Monday (23/5/2022).
To fill the vacancy for regional heads in Pekanbaru and Kampar within a day, the Riau Provincial Government (Pemprov) will appoint the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of each region as the Daily Executor (Plh) of the Mayor of Pekanbaru and the Regent of Kampar.
Riau Provincial Secretary (Sekdaprov) SF Hariyanto said, due to the inauguration of Pj. The Mayor of Pekanbaru and the Regent of Kampar were postponed Monday (23/5/2022), his party will appoint Plh.
"The inauguration is scheduled for Monday, May 23, 2022. Because the AMJ of the Mayor of Pekanbaru and the Regent of Kampar ends on May 22, then we will appoint the Sekda Pekanbaru and Kampar as Acting Mayor and Regent," said Hariyanto on Saturday (21/5/2022).
Meanwhile, the Head of the Regional Government and Autonomy Bureau of the Riau Regional Secretariat, Muhammad Firdaus, also explained the same thing regarding the postponement of the inauguration.
"We have received the Decree from the Minister of Home Affairs, and it has been reported to the Governor. For the Acting Mayor of Pekanbaru, Muflihun (Sekwan DPRD Riau_ed) and Acting Regent of Kampar, Kamsol (Head of the Riau Education Office_ed)," said Firdaus.
Firdaus added, the schedule for the inauguration of the two regional heads was originally scheduled for Sunday according to the End of Office (AMJ) for the Mayor of Pekanbaru and the Regent of Kampar on May 22, but was postponed to Monday (23/5/2022).
"The inauguration schedule has been postponed to Monday, because we just received the decree today (21 May_ed), and it adapts to the governor's schedule. The inauguration has been prepared, including invitations, both from the Pekanbaru City Government and the Kampar Regency Government," concluded Firdaus.
